Mount Kenya Likii North Trek(2 Days)
Overview
The hike follows the traditional Sirimon Route path up to the Shipton’s Camp junction, and then takes a detour towards the Likii North hut, a lesser-known path to the peaks on the Sirimon route. The trail takes a gradual incline through heath and moorlands to get to the Likii North viewpoint (3,993m), where we catch an undistracted view of the peaks on a clear day.

Leave Nairobi at 6:30am and Drive from Nairobi to Nanyuki Town on the western slopes of Mt Kenya.After getting to the Sirimon Gate we will have our hot lunch then a full briefing follows before we begin the mountain trek – we’ll meet our crew at this point.
After completing park entry formalities, we begin our hike (3 to 4 hours) through the forest, bamboo, rosewood, and heather zones to Old Moses camp (3300 meters). The forest and bamboo are home to hundreds of buffalo, elephants, bushbuck, and many bird species.

After early breakfast, the hike starts through the barrow, towards the Likii North Valley, here the moorland offers a gentle climb through fascinating vegetation with a chance of seeing the peaks. The hike will take 3 hours to Likii North Valley stands at 3990 Meters. After a glimpse of the peaks, descent to Old Moses. Descend for 3 hours to the Sirimon Park gate to catch a vehicle for the return journey to Nanyuki for lunch.
Later transfer back to Nairobi arriving by 1800 Hours.
