Table Mountain Aberdares

Table Mountain is in the northwest of Aberdares Range on the southern end of the Aberdares Ranges, about 100km north of Nairobi, is an ideal location for a day hike especially if you’re preparing for the more challenging Mt Kenya,Mount Meru or Mt Kilimanjaro climbs. The Aberdares Ranges are situated west of Mt Kenya in the central highlands between Nyeri and Naivasha, and stretch 70km long from North to South.

Suggested Itinerary

5:00 AM – Departure from Nairobi
Early morning departure from Nairobi towards the Aberdare region. The journey takes approximately 3–4 hours, depending on the route, traffic, and meeting point.

8:30–9:00 AM – Arrival and Registration
Arrive at the starting point, meet the guide, complete the necessary registration, and prepare for the hike.

9:00 AM – Start the Table Mountain Hike
Begin the hike through the beautiful Aberdare landscape. The trek can be physically demanding, with steep sections and changing terrain. Enjoy scenic views and take breaks for photography and refreshments.

1:00 PM – Summit / Table Mountain Viewpoint
Reach the Table Mountain area and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding Aberdare ranges and valleys. Have a packed picnic lunch and take time to relax and enjoy the scenery.

2:00 PM – Begin Descent
Start hiking back to the starting point.

5:00–6:00 PM – End of Hike and Departure
Meet the vehicle and begin the journey back to Nairobi.

9:00–10:00 PM – Arrival in Nairobi
Arrive back in Nairobi, depending on traffic and road conditions.
