Join the #Africaoutdoors hiking team in Kenya as we take on Mt Kenya the highest mountain in Kenya and the second-highest in Africa, after Kilimanjaro measuring 4,985 metres via Sirimon Route. The hike will take four days through Sirimon route this is the easiest route to reach Point Lenana. The route is on dry side of the mountain so it offers magical views and affords walks through old growth forest.

Tour Plan
Departure from Nairobi at 0600 hrs from your hotel and transfer to Nanyuki arriving after 4 hours. Later transfer to Sirimon gate and hike to Old Moses camp for overnight (3300m), 3 to 4 hrs hikes (9kms). Old Moses camp is where you acclimatize as you also come across different vegetation.
After breakfast Hike to Shipton’s camp (4200m )through Likii and Makinders valley for overnight (6 to 8 hrs hikes)
Leave at 3am up a steep stony quarry that cuts through a cliff clearing visible part towards lower Hall Tarns arriving point Lenana at 6:30am, taking about 3hrs. After the sunrise, descend down to Shipton Camp, 2hrs, for breakfast and further, 4hrs, down to Old Moses Camp for dinner and overnight, B,L,D

After breakfast you continue descending to Sirimon gate of Mount Kenya National Park where you meet your safari driver guide. He will take you along the northern side of Mount Kenya with a stopover for lunch at a designated restaurant on the way. After lunch you will proceed to Samburu National reserve and check in at Ashnil Samburu luxury camp where you freshen up and relax.

Begin the day with an early morning game drive. You have best chances to see big cats, elephants, The Samburu special 5; that is, Gravy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Gerenuk, Beisa Oryx and Reticulated Giraffe. Mid-morning is time to visit the Samburu villages and sample their culture. After lunch you can relax and resume game drives in the evening.

You will have an early morning game drive and return to the camp for breakfast. Leave thereafter for Nairobi with lunch in a designated restaurant on the way. Expected arrival time is 1800hrs.
